100 Thieves has secured one of Counter-Strike’s most decorated minds for its return to the game. Four-time Major champion Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander is joining the squad as head coach. The move signals serious intent from the organization as it builds toward a competitive 2026 season debut in CS2.
Gla1ve’s appointment comes fresh off his retirement from professional play in November 2025, marking a swift transition from the server to the sidelines. During his playing career, the Danish tactician established himself as one of the game’s greatest in-game leaders, captaining Astralis to four Major titles between 2018 and 2019 during the organization’s unprecedented era of dominance. His cerebral approach to Counter-Strike revolutionized how teams approached strategy and mid-round calling, making him a natural fit for a coaching role.

The signing represents a major coup for 100 Thieves’ revamped Counter-Strike project. After exiting the scene years ago, the organization confirmed its CS2 return in late 2025 with ambitious backing from its Roobet partnership and a “win now” mentality. Leading the charge is Sean Gares as head of FPS, overseeing strategic direction across both CS2 and VALORANT, while former Complexity GM Graham “messioso” Pitt serves as head of CS operations, handling roster construction and day-to-day logistics.

gla1ve will have immediate work to do shaping the roster around veteran Håvard “rain” Nygaard, 100 Thieves’ first player signing in November.
Notably, rain is transitioning into an IGL role himself—a move that could benefit immensely from gla1ve’s tutelage. The Norwegian brings years of tier-one experience from his time with FaZe Clan, but stepping into leadership responsibilities will require the kind of tactical development gla1ve specialized in as a player.

Learning curves ahead for both gla1ve and rain
While the pairing appears promising on paper, both parties face new challenges. gla1ve has no prior coaching experience at the professional level, and the transition from calling matches as a player to guiding from behind the scenes requires a different skill set entirely.
Similarly, rain has spent his career as a star rifler rather than a leader, making his shift to IGL uncharted territory. How quickly both adapt to their new roles will be crucial to 100 Thieves’ early success.

100 Thieves is taking a measured approach to its rebuild. Rumors suggest the team is planning to acquire an established core rather than assembling a roster piece by piece. If such a move does materialize, it could give 100T a jump start with the VRS invites.
With gla1ve’s championship pedigree guiding the team’s strategic foundation and experienced leadership structuring operations, the organization has positioned itself as a contender ahead of the 2026 season.
The full roster is expected to be unveiled in the coming months as 100 Thieves continues building toward its competitive return.
