PGL has revealed the 16 teams competing in its first Counter-Strike 2 tournament of the 2026 season.
Taking place from February 14th to 22nd, PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026 will feature 14 of the top 16 teams from January’s Valve Regional Standings (VRS).

Defending PGL Cluj-Napoca champion MOUZ has accepted its invitation to return at the event, along with the likes of Team Vitality, FURIA, and FaZe Clan. Notably, Team Spirit and Team Liquid have declined their invitations.
As a result of Team Spirit’s and Team Liquid’s absence , paiN Gaming and HEROIC have completed the line-up for the Tier 1 tournament, thanks to their 17th and 18th place rankings in January’s leadboard.

The list of organisations competing at the tournament has a improved significantly from last year, which attracted only five of the top ten teams. The previous edition began just five days after IEM Katowice 2025, forcing teams to choose between the two events.
PGL Cluj-Napoca is one of five Counter-Strike tournament the organiser will host throughout the year. In addition to its events taking place in Romania and Kazakhstan between February and October, PGL will host the second Major of 2026 in Singapore.
In recent months, PGL has adjusted its 2026 calendar to avoid clashes with other tournament organisers. It cancelled an event planned to originally planned for October as a result of a full overlap with another tournament, replacing it will a new tournament running from October 22nd to November 2nd.
PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026 Format and Tickets
The 16 teams will compete in a Swiss stage, with all matches featuring a best-of-three series. The top eight teams from the Swiss stage advance to the Playoffs for a chance to be crowned champion and take home the lion’s share of the $1.25m (~£927,812) prize pool.
