GRID has partnered with New Zealand-based developer Ninja Kiwi to provide in-game data infrastructure, distribution, and community engagement solutions for Legion TD 2.
This partnership marks the game data and technology company’s first step beyond AAA esports titles into the broader multiplayer gaming market.
Legion TD 2, a spin-off of the popular Warcraft III mod, has sustained a loyal and active community since its full release in 2021. The collaboration will enable Ninja Kiwi to unlock actionable game data to enhance both player-facing features and internal development workflows.
Through the GRID Play platform, Ninja Kiwi will gain access to full playerbase data for leaderboards, post-match breakdowns, and community dashboards, as well as a developer portal offering analytics tools on player behavior and engagement. GRID will also provide the data infrastructure to support new content layers and future use cases.
GRID Play aimed at powering indie developers
The partnership with Ninja Kiwi is the first official integration of GRID Play, a solution built specifically for indie developers to track comprehensive playerbase data. GRID Play is already active in Legion TD 2, with full leaderboard and statistics features scheduled to roll out later this summer.

“GRID Play was designed to let developers focus on making great games, not managing complex data,” GRID Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder Chris King said. “The AutoAttack Games team at Ninja Kiwi has developed a game with a passionate player base and strong community-driven ecosystem behind it—qualities where reliable data infrastructure and insightful player stats can add meaningful value.”
AutoAttack Games CEO and Founder Brent Batas highlighted the benefits of the collaboration for both players and developers. “As we share GRID data with our playerbase, we can better showcase the unparalleled gameplay depth of Legion TD 2, and the same data will also help guide our business and development decisions moving forward.”
GRID has long been recognized as one of the premier data providers in the esports industry. The company collaborates with bookmakers, betting operators, tournament organizers, and publishers to deliver precise, real-time analytics that help manage and monetize esports content.
GRID’s client roster includes Riot Games, BLAST, and ESL FACEIT Group, with the latter signing a multi-year deal making GRID the exclusive distributor, infrastructure, and integrity partner for all ESL Counter-Strike 2 and Dota 2 tournaments.
With the Ninja Kiwi deal, GRID signals a strategic expansion into a wider gaming market, demonstrating how its esports-honed infrastructure can benefit titles well beyond the competitive circuit.
