Better Collective has taken a major step into competitive gaming by launching a dedicated esports business segment, a move designed to cement its position in one of the fastest-growing entertainment markets. From Q2 2025 onwards, the Denmark-based media powerhouse will report esports as its standalone business unit.
This is a clear signal that this sector is now central to the long-term vision of the company, which also features digital sports and sports betting media brands. The decision comes as esports continues to attract millions of fans worldwide and generate significant commercial opportunities across content, advertising, and community engagement. At the heart of this new segment are two of Better Collective’s biggest esports assets: HLTV and FUTBIN.
HLTV stands as the world’s leading Counter-Strike hub, drawing hundreds of millions of monthly page views and an active global audience of dedicated fans. Meanwhile, FUTBIN dominates the EA FC (formerly FIFA) scene, offering an extensive player database, advanced squad-building tools, and in-depth market analytics.

Together, these platforms tap into a highly engaged, predominantly younger demographic, making them key drivers for audience expansion, brand partnerships, and revenue growth in the years ahead. Better Collective’s newly formed esports division is already proving to be a major revenue driver, delivering around €20 million in earnings for 2024 and boasting an impressive profitability margin of 60%.
This performance not only underscores the strength and scalability of the esports market but also cements its role as a key growth pillar for the Denmark-based digital sports media giant.
Jesper Søgaard, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Better Collective, emphasized the strategic value of this focus: “Esports is a major growth driver for us. Owning platforms like HLTV and FUTBIN allows us to engage millions of passionate fans and grow alongside one of the most dynamic entertainment sectors. By making esports its own segment, we can increase transparency, focus our investments, and accelerate new features and partnerships that unlock the full potential of these communities.”
By carving out esports as its dedicated segment, Better Collective is giving investors and partners a clearer picture of just how impactful this market is and creating the space for its teams to innovate faster. This move opens the door to more targeted strategies for fan engagement and content creation, capitalizing on the massive audiences already loyal to HLTV and FUTBIN.
Both platforms have become deeply woven into the core of esports culture, making them not just popular but highly defensible, long-term assets. The company isn’t stopping at structure alone. Looking forward, Better Collective plans to supercharge its esports presence with richer data analytics, new content formats, and fresh interactive features that bring fans closer to the games and creators they love.
The goal isn’t just to grow clicks and revenue, it’s to build lasting trust, loyalty, and a stronger sense of community across the global esports landscape.
